Sorry for being dead lately / #4631

I just wanted to apologize for being absent during the last few weeks. I had to do some commercial work and finally wanted to finish my new demo (http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=30255). Since I am using streber every day, I can promise you, that the project it not dead.

If things go well, I can invest the next few days into finally releasing the v0.08 as being promised for some time now.

your sincerely

Congratulations for streber
We started using streber 2 weeks ago after doing kind of evaluation for a browser -based easy to use pm-tool. We're very happy with it and I wish it a long live. In my opinion it excells most of the other available tools which in general provide too many features not needed for small- to mid-size projects/compnaies. And the UI is absolutely great - good looking and good function.

For the future I'd except a bit more flexibility regarding "Aufgaben" (Issues) and probably a management UI for data maintenance.

One question: the forum seems to be unused for month now. How is it therefore best to get in contact with developers and other users?

Thanks for the praise! Getting some positive feedback is very encouraging :)

Could you elaborate a little bit more on this one? It sounds interesting, but for implementation detailed suggestions have the best changes to be implemented.

Yes. The forums have been closed because I become bored of removing all the spam bots once a week. The best way of getting in contact is: "Register" at this streber installation and just start to create new Wiki-Pages and Tasks.

I wrote a little bit here: welcome to streber-pm.org

Ok, I'm registered now and will start a new task related to "task handling".

PS: for the same reasons I had to close my forum for a library I provide as open source - it's really anoying what posts I got over time...

I really hope, that the spam bots are not showing up here too early. I already got a lot of automatic tries, but they would have to do special adjustments for streber. I guess that's not worth the effort unless streber has more installations.

Management UI
Me again...

Regarding Management UI I found an older post in the (meanwhile) closed forum:

http://www.streber-pm.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=131

where it sais all.

Actually I don't mind making configuration changes for streber in the config-files - IMO it's still the favorite method over for example Win Registry.

But a HTML page for making all config changes could make live a bit easier. A good example for such a "Backend" is implemented in joomla.

Although a GUI - driven configuration page is a common feature request, it is pretty unlikely it will be available for streber soon. Currently it project is driven by the personals desires of the programmers with some discussion before adding new features.

My personal wish list looks like:
  • Request feedback from person (http://www.streber-pm.org/4610)
  • SVN support ala Trac
  • Rough support of managing invoices.
  • Better booking / editing of efforts.
A far as I understood 's company is mostly interested in invoicing / costs tracking.

Of course I am.

I think together with a stable v0.08 we need some kind of introduction documentation. There are so many features people are not aware of when using streber. Since your are American you could help by going through my drafts and fix typos and grammar.

Also moderation is needed here too:
  • Remove all comments that are spam or trolling (that's not much right now)
  • Review all bug-reports for completeness:
    • thanks for reporting
    • ask screenshots, version and errors.log if needed
    • ask for registration, to keep track of discussion
    • check for doubles and probable close/reject invalid reports
    • sort feature requests into the appropriate folders
  • This might not sound much, but it would save me one-two hours a week that could be spent into coding... :)

Did you already register? If not, please do so before writing a reply :)
