Sure, I will do it, no problem. I will be on holiday from Christmas to January 6th, but we are in no hurry. Therefore I would set the date a bit later, like January 11th. Would that be ok? I will prepare some step-by-step tutorial for TortoiseSVN by then.
Putting the warnings on the project page is good, but people might forget when the deadline approaches. Is there a way to send an email to every team member, in addition to the "regular" notifications? If not I think it might be a good feature to add. Of course only project managers/admins would be allowed to do it.
