We should clean rendered code to conform standards.
I opt on XHTML standard.
Why? It's well configured xml so we could parse that pages in xml tools.

I started cleaning some code but it must be agree and strictly rule for all developers to use proper syntax.

What do you think?

I am not sure if we can do this properly. I have heard that there are still some issues with "real" XHTML conform files. But we should definetely clean up the html source to be ready for an upcomming bright future.

Could you add a list of common mistakes that need to be fixed?
