As an improvement for streber, it would be really nice to be able to assign special user rights for any given task or folder.

In real life, working with large projects, you must give special rights to a leader user for that task, like:
  • create new tasks
  • upload files
  • edit descriptions
It´s something like managing One big project for a company, and then you have to be able to manage small projects (tasks or folders) with special user rights.

All the taks inside that folder should also inherit the same rights.

It sounds more complex for the authorization method, but it would be a really usefull tool.

Sorry, but this is not realistic...
I believe this feature is out of reach with the current user rights mechanism. The rights regarding to an item is not related to the folder in any way. Although this might be cool indeed, it would be require a drastic refactoring of the right handling.

We had a similar discussion when starting with streber and I reduced it to the very basic version, we currently have.

What we can do is:
  • Add special rights for each team member like (close/approve/delete tasks)
  • Distinguish the rights between different item types (like comments can be created, but not deleted. But only only efforts can be viewed). This change is realistic (4-8 Hours)
