I agree it is very useful field / #1822

In our typical work my firm need this kind of field.

We could imagine two scenarios:

1. official releases
2. svn, cvs revisions

Scenario 1 is typical, but when somebody uses cvs or svn he/she probably likes to add cvs/svn revision as additional info. Maybe it is too much information for not so many people, but it is worth of thinking :-).
